what’s the difference between an microsoft word file and a microsoft word .doc? for school

Microsoft Office files (at least the ones used by Office Word) are .docx files. The only difference between them and .doc files is that only Office products can read and edit the .docx ones.

How do you lock files with microsoft office word 2007?

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I need to lock my files so that nobody can go in and mess them up! Can somebody please help me?

Fortunately you can prevent this from happening in Word 2007 by password protecting your documents. If you use passwords, you have two different options. You can require a password to open the document and/or you can require a password to make any changes to it.

To configure a password, open your Word document and click Options from the Tools menu. Click the Security tab. You’ll see there are two options available: Password to open and Password to modify. To use either one, simply type a password into the field. Click OK to save your changes.

how do i find microsoft exel files that were deleted on my computer?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

any help would be great i am not that good with computers.

ty

If they aren’t in the recycle bin anymore, you can still recover them. When Windows ‘deletes’ a file, it doesn’t actually remove the contents of the file, just the link of a name/dir to the contents. Chances are that your files are still intact, they just don’t have a name anymore (so you can’t see them in Explorer, etc).

What you can do is undelete them. Google ‘windows undelete’ and you’ll find tons of apps that do this.

I just bought a new computer with Vista, and now my old microsoft word files are all encripted?

Friday, February 26th, 2010

What do I need to do to be able to use my old files?

This is a desparate call for help!!!!

Thanks

2 possibilities here:
1 your windows vista machine doesn’t have microsoft word installed and can’t read word documents.
solution: go back to the old machine and save your file as .txt and try opening them again. Or install microsoft word.

2. the security settings are wacky, maybe you set a password on your machine and your file is secured to be opened by the user on your old computer only.
solution:
right click on the file in the new computer and select properties. click on the security tab and click edit.
add "everyone" and give full control to "everyone" now you should be able to open your file.

How do you save microsoft word files to compact disks?

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

I am doing an essay and my printer wasn’t working so I had my friend print it. It didnt come out with clip art and stuff so my teacher told me to save it on a recordable compact disk she gave me. How do I save it? It is already typed and saved to my computer. Please help! and thatnks in advance…

you open the document, go to file and "save as" and you go to "my computer" on the side and you double click whatever the compact disk shows up as ( probably something like F: ) then you name the document and save it. voila.

How can I install Microsoft Office 2007 on my Acer Netbook?

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

I have the software on my regular laptop, and was wondering how I can transfer it from there to the acer netbook through file sharing?! As I have no router, I got the ethernet cable that lets you hook 2 computers together and tried sharing files and it worked. I just don’t know what microsoft files I need to transfer to have the thing work.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks =)

Hi

Well you can do a disk image and restore it to your netbook.
