How do I get more space on dvd when burning on computer?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

I have a dvd r with 4.7gb. When I use the disc to record on the tv I get 6hrs. I am trying to burn on my laptop but only get 2hrs. How do I get more space? I am using WinX Dvd Author is there any other software that can help? It does not have to be free. My files are avi format. I burned them to a disc and was able to get a lot on there but could only play the disc in a computer and not a dvd player.

You should try Womble EasyDVD, it’s not hard to use it for it’s extremely easy-to-use and will meet almost all the needs when authoring a DVD disc.

If you have a 4.7 gb dvd r, you need to select a 4.38 disc capacity when output a DVD folder in EasyDVD’s Output step if the total size of the DVD project is bigger than 4.7 gb. But please notice that the more video compression, the more quality lose.

You can download a free trial here http://www.womblesoft.com/download/

WINDOWS EXPLORER HELP!! Renaming Files?!?

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

I’m putting music onto my mp3 player, and I’m using Windows Explorer to do so. I have imported the files from Limewire. I would like to rename the author of all the songs since some of them are blank and incorrect. I would like to do this because the mp3 player sorts the songs depending what the author is. I know how to rename the author, but you have to right click each file, press properties, and then change the details. If I press F2 with a song selected it only renames the name of the file, which is the title of the song, not the author. Is there any way to rename all of the authors at the same time?!

MP3 format right?

Why won’t AVS DVD Authoring Burn my DVD?

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I am using AVS DVD Authoring 1.3.3.45 on Vista 64-bit

I added all the files, customized the layout, etc., and the files are still showing up in the timeline. I clicked "build disc" and left home. When I got back, it said it was successful and gave me a dialog box to choose whether I wanted to burn the disc. I clicked "burn disc", it’s set to the right drive (E:), the disc is in, it’s blank, but when I click "burn disc" it says "No files for burning disc. Add files".

The files are there, so I don’t get what’s going on. Can someone help?
I would like to know why this specific program does not work. I enjoy the functionality otherwise. Unless your solution is a program that is FREE, please don’t plug it.

If you want to make/burn video DVD from video files, there is an easy way and the better choice, you can try RZ DVD Creator, it can create standard video DVD from any video files, it can burn multi videos to one disc, can auto fit the size, it can directly convert and burn any
videos to DVD(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-DL, DVD+DL, etc), such as avi to DVD, etc.

Work well on my computer, easy to use, i like it, following is a step by step guide about Video DVD Creator:

Hope it can help you.

help in encoding AVI to MPEG for DVD authoring?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I have got a bunch of AVI files (100+ each not bigger than a couple of mins) .I am looking for some free-ware which can encode the .AVI to .MPEG in a batch.
Tried using TMPGenENC but it seems to have expired its license.
Ideally such an encoder would point to a dir and encode everything there .

http://www.videohelp.com is a great resource with a ton of guides.

I need to combine VOB files.. someone told me 2 use DVD Author 3 2 perform this task.. i dont know what 2 do ?

Friday, February 26th, 2010

5 VOB’s the software to do it.. but how.. please help

Theres always download.com for tons of free programs and trial versions that will probably do it….or if your looking to do dvd authoring, its always easier and less time consuming to hire a dvd authoring company such as SF Video. The price you would pay on software and the dvd’s you might as well save the money and spend it on professional authoring…hope it helps.

How do you make a flash player from scratch? Any way to do it with just codes?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

I want to make a music flash player. And i have quite a bit to learn. I would like to know if their is a way i could create my own player from complete nothing only using codes. If theirs a tutorial site or your personal instruction, that would help. Ive been using XSPF, and XML player, and ive found pre-made skins for them, but how would i create my own? Where would i even start?? I dont have any money for no extra programs for changing crazy file extensions. So is their a way around it? (Like from what im told with changing skin files with .fla & player functions .as i need a flash authoring software , any way without the software it would be possible? or know of free software that would work? Not trial)…
Simply put. How do i create my own music flashplayer?
How would i create my own personal skin for XSPF or XML??(thats really what i want to know if not anything else for now)..
I need the start to finish. But i will be happy with any information you can fill me in on. Thanks.

If you want to make your own Flash player, you have to have Flash. You can download a 30-day demo version from http://www.adobe.com/flash. You must have the authoring environment, just like you have to have Word to make Word files and Excel to make Excel files. There’s no way around it, and no one makes a free version of the Flash authoring environment because it is proprietary software owned by Adobe. There are other programs that output SWF files (that is an open format), which is what the Flash environment publishes, but nothing sophisticated enough to create a music player.

Once you have Flash, you need to learn programming basics. A music player is not the most complex piece of software in the world, but it is software. You will probably need to get a book on ActionScript, which is the programming language Flash uses. You need to have at least a basic grasp of the programming environment, at the very least, to avoid breaking the player when you try to change the appearance.

If someone else has already made a player that supports XML skinning (though I am not aware of one), then you should be able to create your own skin with Notepad or any other text editor – you just need to learn the skin codes that the program understands. XML is a plain-text format – the same as a txt file, but with an xml extension. (Hint: you don’t need a program to change file extensions – Windows does this on its own).

how can i convert files?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

i want to convert wmv. files to vob. files…
i want to make a dvd using nero 8 but i think i have to use vob. files and all my dvd files are wmv…
any idea’s?
this is what comes up when i try to add a wmv file to burn…

One or more files could not be added to a compilation.

The following files may not reside in the VIDEO_TS directory of a DVD-Video compilation. Only compliant DVD-Video files
VIDEO_TS.IFO,
VIDEO_TS.VOB,
VIDEO_TS.BUP,
VTS_nn_0.IFO,
VTS_nn_0.VOB,
VTS_nn_0.BUP and
VTS_nn_m.VOB
can be added to the VIDEO_TS folder. Please add files from a completed DVD-Video title or use an authoring software like Nero Vision to create DVD-Video files from standard video files such as *.avi and *.mpg.

please help would be very grateful… thanks.

download this converter

is there a way to burn or re-author a vob file to a dvd playable disc without transcoding?

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

hi! i have a collection of .avi files and i want put it in a dvd disc coz’ i want to watch it using our DVD player. i have nero software but the thing is it takes too long hours to finish coz’ it tries to transcode the files. i understand that transcoding converts the files into dvd compatible format so i convert the avi files into dvd compatible .vob files manually, it only takes 45 mins. Now that i have the vob files, I would like to ask how to transfer or re-author it to a dvd playable disc without transcoding? i tried nero again but it also tries to transcode the vob files which will take approx. 9hrs… Too long…. Anyone can help me? thanks :)
