DVD Movie Burning Help!!?
Hi
I am trying to burn a DVD movie from a file from my computer
and my movie file formats are the following: avi, flv, mkv
when i try to burn my dvd using nero startsmart
i m getting the following messge:
The following files may not reside in the VIDEO_TS directory of a DVD-Video compilation. Only compliant DVD-Video files
VIDEO_TS.IFO,
VIDEO_TS.VOB,
VIDEO_TS.BUP,
VTS_nn_0.IFO,
VTS_nn_0.VOB,
VTS_nn_0.BUP and
VTS_nn_m.VOB
can be added to the VIDEO_TS folder. Please add files from a completed DVD-Video title or use an authoring software like Nero Vision to create DVD-Video files from standard video files such as *.avi and *.mpg.
can someone please help me step by step how to get this thing work..?

You should be aware that Nero is only capable of burning pre-authored DVD-Video VOB-files. That means that you cannot simply add your avi, flv, mkv video files, they must be in VIDEO_TS form before we start to burn them with Burning Rom. The folder you want to burn should have a couple of .BUP and .IFO files, and a bunch of 1GB .VOB files.
You might try ConvertXtoDVD, it can convert your video files into DVD-Video VOB files and burn to DVD disc. Check this guide:http://guide-how.com/dvd-authoring/how-to-create-a-custom-dvd-with-convertxtodvd/

Like the message tells you, you should be using "Nero Vision" to burn dvds. If you have the complete Nero program, convert all your videos into avi format & use Nero Vision (under applications in StartSmart). Nero Vision will convert the videos into dvd format.

You need some dvd converter and dvd creator software to do this What I am using is Leawo Free DVD to FLV Converter and DVD Creator. They are helpful.
