How to attach html files, properly linked with the associated files that contain links to graphics, frames etc

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

When you download an html file from internet (by using ‘Save As’ option under File menu), apart from one htm file (with explorer icon), a folder containing associated files and links is automatically created. If I want to attach this htm page to an email, how do I attach the associated files so that they will automatically link and show the page to the recipient like original? The associated files folder contains a very large number of files: about 50-60. Even if I attach these 50 odd files individually, they remain separate attachments and do not get automatically linked. Is there some way?

well there is 2 things i can think of.. firstly why not just send the link to the page. secondly if you have saved page and you have all the files on your computer just archive them all into one file including folders and email that as as an attachment and then the file would then be extracted as it is on your pc for them to use. So your archive will contain a ***.html or htm file and a folder with all the images for that page..

use winrar or winace to do so if you have nothing as they are free o you and you just highlight and right click and it gives you the option to archive easy

hope this helps

does the software divx author only convert files to divx ?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

When using DivX Author 1.5, is there a way you can convert the vob files directly to avi format rather than divx format ?

divx author — is a divx authoring tool meaning your final output is going to be divx only.

Try winavi to convert between multiple formats

How do I delete the over-written Microsoft files?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

So I did not use that special programme (I think it’s Ghost or something) to completely delete all the old Microsoft files before installing the new version; so now there are two versions that appear to be installed at the same time on my computer, which makes it really slow. Is there anything I can do to erase the old files without having to delete everything and start installing from scratch ? (Tell me if I make any sense, I’m not very good at I.T jargons)

The easiest (and most reliable) way would be to reformat the hard drive and then re-install Windows. If you don’t know how to do this (or would just like some reassurance) this link has a good tutorial on how to go about it.

Windows won’t open a .CHM file. What to do?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

So, my windows does not open a .chm file. I thought this should be something normal that windows could do. The even weirder part is that it opens other .chm files that I have on my computer, it just does not open this one.

Any ideas?

.chm files are a newer version of help files. If windows can open most of them then this one it can’t open is probably corrupt. You may be able to re-install the software that this file came from and be able to open it. In most cases, but not all, when you re-install a software package, it will not over write your settings. Dont un-install it, just try re-installing it over the top of the existing version.

What is the best software to use for DVD sub title editing and authoring using non-standard fonts?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

I want to use DVD subtitle and authoring software to display in my local language. Can any one advise on the best approaches, and which software are best suited with a reasonable price? Thanks

•You can try Cucusoft Total_Video_Converter.rarSuite to rip DVD movie and convert videos in any format to iPod. It is the fastest converter I have used. You can download this software free from here:

does anyone know how to open or view .chm files?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

i cant view my chm files in windows xp sp2. is there any software(a safe one) then can be downloaded for free?

If you are running XP i386 then you should be able to view chm file because chm file is developed by Microsoft. Anywhere, in your case just fallow the recipe below:

1. Click this link http://www.download.com/FBReader/3000-2125_4-10758620.html?tag=lst-8 for FBReader 0.8.7. If the link doesn’t open type download.com and search for FBReader. This software should solve your problem.

2. If you are using Firefox, you could go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3235 and download this extension. If the link doesn’t open go ot firefox.com. Click add-ons then in the search box search for chm reader. It will allow you to view chm file under your browser. Open Firefox then click file open file. In the open file box(window) find the path of this file and open it.

3. If the above recipe didn’t solve your problem. Make sure your file name end with .chm. If you don’t don’t see any .chm. You have to go to folder option and under hide known file extension uncheck it if it is checked. Then go back to where you have store this file and you should be able to see the .chm. In case it isn’t .chm it means that this file isn’t a chm file and you could try to rename this file by right clicking on the file and type the name you desire. Be sure to end this file name with .chm. Try to open it without any program(as I have mentioned above XP i386 should be able to read it). If it doesn’t open then try the 1 or 2 recipe again.

Why does ebooks in compiled html help file format render page cannot be displayed when clicked to open?

Hi,

I am getting a "page cannot be displayed" error with many of the ebooks I downloaded. The books are in compiled html help file format(.chm) How can I see the contents? And mind you these are not improperly downloaded blank files. The size of the files are in Mbs and the index on the left shows all the items.
Any help is really appreciated.

Do cheat programs like Aq Elite take up create alot of sapce that was not included with the files?

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Hi I have been using Aq Elite for a long time and I noticed it had created files that took up alot of space. I hadn’t partitioned the files and am now wonder if it can create files on its own.

I imagine that it would make its own files, though they’ll be really small, since what you’re talking about is a simple cheat program, I really shouldn’t be doing this, I don’t normally help AQ cheaters
